Journal Entry: Tue Oct 27, 2009, 1:40 AM

So this is probably my last journal in Subscription mode. Prepare to see this bitch for a longgggg time.

Damn I have had enough of everything at the moment.

Okay okay that was good for my emo moment, now returning to my own self... DONE.
Time to inform everyone here I guess ^^ Last week I went to Turkey with school. We traveled with a bus from Antalya to Istanbul, visiting all the important sites while traveling. I've seen so much and made a shitload of pictures, of which perhaps I'll post some. Also some photographs of me in the Starbucks :D
But of course you don't go to Turkey for the Starbucks (right?). It was amazing to see how much was still buried in the ground there! For example, we were walking through the site near Pammukele (the chalk baths, you should google it, it's beautiful) and we could see quite some Sarcophages and such and were quite amazed already, when suddenly our teacher pointed at the top of the mountain and said: "Hey, isn't that a sarcophagus as well?"
And our guide looked, looked back, shrugged and said: "Yes well probably the entire mountainside here is still filled with buildings and sarcophages of this Necropolis, but the Turkish governement doesn't want to spend money on it so they remain beneath the ground."
During the trip I've started believing that there's still so much buried and hidden in the Turkish soil, that it's simply unbelievable that no one so far has made an attempt on getting it out. You could get a fucking fortune for that stuff, like omigosh o__O
And the food! Jeez that was different from our boring European stuff I must say. In overall the food tasted completely off to what I'm used to but I liked it - it was sour, fresh and they made good use of their vegetables. I ate vegeterian-like for two days - while I'm a carnivore from head to toe! Although I must also admit that the Kebab, even though ever so delicious, started to look revolting after three days of eating that as lunch.... =P
Our hotels were good, I guess. All except the first one, that one was horrible. Me and Arianne were roommates and we were extremely lucky with our room, the worst thing for us was the peeling off paint and a slight smell. But we heard of entire carpets of green mold in the shower (AND minibar!!!), brown, muddy water coming out of the tap, falling-off showerheads and rooms stinking so badly that the smell hadn't disappeared even after leaving the room open for an entire day. Luckily the hotels after that were better :D

All in all it was a wonderful experience. And Istanbul was so beautiful, I'd really like to go back there. Perhaps I will someday ;)

Oh and I saw Watchmen last night. I know late late late but I just hadn't been able to watch it up until now. I saw it in Blueray and I was STUNNED with the detail!! It was a little too much for my taste however, unbelievable how too much realism can make a movie look 'fake' :XD: (At times it felt I was looking at a way too realistic pc game. Although that might just be me being a TOTAL geek :XD:)
I didn't understand anything of the storyline, I guess that is because I never read any of the comics and all in all I thought it was a pretty insane, but strange movie.

See you all soon and I hope to be able to continue Forever Winter soon ;)
